Meet Our Versatile Blend – Mogambo

July 27, 2019

Here in this tropical climate where the only 2 seasons are extremely warm and gloomy rainfall, it’s always important to stay versatile. Our mornings can start off with a sudden downpour that feels as if Singapore suddenly has its own natural air-conditioning switched on, but in the afternoon, the super cold weather turns into a blistering heat! And the nice warm sweater we decided to wear in the morning becomes a heat trap by 1pm.

Although we can’t control the weather, we can always make a drink that would help soothe us from the extreme climates we are put through. Introducing… Mogambo! A bright citrusy blend of South African Bush Tea and fruits that can be drunk hot or cold to suit even the most temperamental weather patterns.

Mogambo is made with organic Rooibos and blended with organic Honeybush, apple, passionfruit, orange peels and pomegranate flowers. This brew has bright sweet yet tangy notes with a slight citrus finish.

Technically, Mogambo isn’t a tea blend. This is because Rooibos comes from South African Red Bush and not from the Camellia Sinesis plant (which all other teas originate from). Red Bush leaves are long and needle-shaped, and start off as green bushes. As the leaves are left to ferment and dry, the leaves turn a bright reddish-copper hue. When steeped, the brew turns a similar colour of reddish-copper too! The most impressive characteristic about Rooibos tea is that it is naturally caffeine-free!

The great thing about Mogambo is its versatility. This blend can be enjoyed from day to night and as a hot beverage or cold brew to suit your fancy.

So, you can wake up in the morning to a sudden downpour and warm up with a hot brew of Mogambo, and when the afternoon’s blazing sun is beating down on you, stay refreshed with a cold brew of Mogambo!

Simply dunk 2 to 3 sachets of  in 500ml of room-temperature water and leave it in the fridge for 8 hours/overnight and you’ll have the perfect cold brew to enjoy the next day. Trust us, you won’t regret trying this!
